短片对故事做了一些艺术性改编，给予女魃重生的机会。因蚩尤善战不擅治国怕会引来生灵涂炭，即使知道未来的坎坷命运，女魃还是选择了下界帮助黄帝，并在叔均的建议下去往赤水之北。也因为她残留的神力化开了赤水之北的冰川，为那里带来了生机。重新选择的女魃也更明白了自己内心所求是百姓安乐，而不是自己的虚名。
《山海经大荒北经》 有系昆之山者，有共工之台，射者不敢北乡。有人衣青衣，名曰黄帝女(妭)[魃(bá)]。蚩尤作兵伐黄帝，黄帝乃令应龙攻之冀州之野。应龙畜水，蚩尤请风伯雨师，纵大风雨。黄帝乃下天女曰(妭)[魃]，雨止，遂杀蚩尤。(妭)[魃]不得复上，所居不雨。叔均言之帝，后置之赤水之北。叔均乃为田祖。(妭)[魃]时亡之，所欲逐之者，令曰：“神北行 ！”先除水道，决通沟渎(dú)。
The AI short film "The Rebirth of Drought Demon" is adapted from the story of Drought Demon, the goddess of drought in the Shanhaijing. Drought Demon was once a goddess in charge of divine decorations in the heavenly realm, with the divine power to stop rain. In the Battle of Zhuo Lu, the wind and rain masters helped Chi You in the battle, and the struggle was stalemated, so the Yellow Emperor asked the Drought Demon to come down to the world to reverse the battle. The short movie makes some artistic adaptations to the story, giving the Drought Demon a chance to be reborn. Chi You is a good fighter and not good at ruling the country for fear that it will destroy the world. Even though she knows her future fate, she still goes down to help the Yellow Emperor. After that, on the Shujiun's advice, she goes north of the Red Water. Her residual godly power melted away the glaciers north of the Red Water, bringing life to the area. She also realized that what she wanted in her heart was peace and happiness for the people, not her fame.
